How did it feel being appointed to a new hotel during COVID-19?

I’m thrilled at being given the opportunity to lead the new Holiday Inn Express Edinburgh - City West hotel. It makes me feel recognised, trusted and valued as a leader and as an individual.

What’s been your biggest challenge so far, how did Atlas help solve this?

I have experienced a few challenges during my career but Atlas has always supported me. My biggest personal and true challenge so far?  Being far away from my kids for most of the week while I supported our Inverness team. Face time homework and virtual cuddles before their bedtime was not easy.

Atlas came to the rescue, so I could manage regular home visits. I know that I can contact my Operations manager or HR and they will always make time to listen and offer help and advice. 

I can’t forget to mentioning internal housekeeping, I couldn’t keep my muscles if I didn’t help clean the rooms. There are muscles I didn’t know that I had.

Looking to the future, what are you most looking forward to working in the Atlas family?

I am so excited about this new chapter in my journey with Atlas. I look forward to meeting the Edinburgh Team, getting to know them all and make the hotel a wonderful place to work.
