We spoke to Holiday Inn Express Gloucester's new Hotel Operations Manager (HOM) - Ella Gregory - from Guest Service Assistant to HOM, find out more about Ella's journey with Atlas.

Tell us a bit about yourself, how long have you worked in hospitality?

I have worked within Atlas for just over 2 years. I started my journey as a GSA in Bristol Filton, progressing to GSM and then TL after the restructure in March before becoming HOM for Gloucester in August 2020. Previously I had worked with the childcare sector so joining Atlas was a whole new journey for me. My Hotel Manager at the time was very supportive and gave me the encouragement and support I needed to learn new skills. I felt inspired by the passion my previous Hotel Manager showed towards Atlas and it made me strive for more.

How well are you adapting to the current changes working in a hotel?

I see the current changes we are experiencing due to Covid-19 as new challenges. I feel that everybody has pulled together to adapt to the new SOPs and government guidelines and these uncertain times have proved just how strong of a team we have within our hotels and across the Atlas Family.

Looking to the future, what are you most looking forward to working in the Atlas family?

I am looking forward to spending more time with my Team in Gloucester and supporting them with their development as I value the time my Hotel Manager spent with me when I was a GSA/GSM. I am excited to implement my new ideas and welcome back more of our valued guests when COVID has cleared up! Since becoming HOM I have met many more of my Atlas colleagues across the cluster, they are all so welcoming and encouraging and I am very much looking forward to getting to work alongside such inspiring individuals.
