Meet Gemma, Hotel Operations Manager at the new Holiday Inn Express Bicester. After being open now for its first month, check out below how Gemma and the team have been getting on.

Tell us a bit about yourself, how long have you worked in hospitality?

I have worked in hospitality since leaving school (keeping my age a secret here lol) everything from pubs & restaurants to full-service hotels.

How well are you adapting to the current changes working in a hotel?

There is nothing you can compare to the opening of a new hotel! Being here since a building site we were all so excited to welcome our guests and show off what an amazing hotel we have. L+R, Atlas & the Property team have really spoiled us.

How well are you adapting to the current changes working in a hotel?

We’re still here to deliver great customer service to our guests, only now we have additional precautions to keep them safe alongside our employees. The evidence is in the feedback we've received from our guests - everyone is having a comfortable and safe stay.

Looking to the future, what are you most looking forward to working in the Atlas family?

Being part of Atlas for 14 years myself I’m most looking forward to developing the new team here, taking them on their learning journey and seeing them progress and develop into future Team Leaders & HOMS….the possibilities are endless!
