Say hey to Ricky, the Groups and Meetings Manager here at Atlas. A familiar face in one of our teams behind the scene - we caught up with Ricky to find out how he's adapting to changes in the hotel industry and what he's looking forward to in the future.

Tell us a bit about yourself - what is your role in Atlas and how long have you worked with us?

I have worked at Atlas Hotels for 13 years, starting my career at Holiday Inn Express Milton Keynes at 18 years old! From then on, I've worked my way back to Milton Keynes as the Groups and Meetings Manager in our brand new office.

What could people catch you getting up to when you aren't working?

You can find me spending time with friends and family, travelling and walking the dog.

How well are you adapting to the current changes working in the hotel industry?

I think for me is not being able to spend time in person with the wider commercial team and offering hugs all round is still not allowed which is difficult for us. I'm extremely lucky to have the team here in the office, continuing to work together as we maximise as much revenue into our hotels during this difficult time.

Looking to the future, what are you most looking forward to working in the Atlas family?

We started the journey of centralising Groups and Meetings back in 2019, and just as we were about to launch - Covid-19 turned up (uninvited!). I can’t wait to be able to bring this new department to completion and bring lots of lovely business to all the hotels!
